We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:22-25
Do you groan inwardly for release from a world of pain and sin? Do you feel out of place? Do you wait eagerly for a home that you have never seen, a Savior you know and love, but have never touched? If you are saved in Jesus, have you thought on your great, unseen hope today? Take heart, this life’s journey has a destination. Don’t get consumed with what is only temporary and quickly fading. Your hope is secure in the person of Jesus. You belong to God and He is preparing a place for all who place hope and faith in Him.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. …All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country- a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:13-16
Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!
